ACADEMIC COORDINATOR IN HCMC

Overview: The Academic Coordinator (AC) reports to the Director of Studies (DoS)/Assistant Director of Studies (ADoS,) and monitors, supervises, and supports the academic teaching team to deliver ACET programs. The AC is responsible for monitoring the delivery of high quality Academic English, IELTS preparatory, and Young Teens (6-9th grade) programs. This involves the day to day management of the ACET programs, and providing ongoing teacher support, as well as student administration and support. This position may have involvement in all ACET programs mentioned, but does have a significant priority (70/30) towards coordinating the Academic English and IELTS Preparatory programs. This coordination includes development, promotion and maintenance of the AE/IELTS programs in line with the strategic goals of the organization. Key Responsibilities: Teacher management and support Products management Administration Teaching and covering classes   Responsibility details: Teacher management (15%) Run induction sessions for all new teachers Assist the DoS with communication between ACET and the teaching team Conduct teacher observations – observe and give feedback to teachers, conduct appraisals, and offer support and advice. To supervise and assist students in class and out of class. To provide customer service to students/parents. To complete administrative tasks. RESPONSIBILITY 1. Learning Support Agree classroom role with teachers before each term begins. Motivate student to participate in classroom activities and assist teachers in the supervision and monitoring of student’s work, marking students’ works, etc. Assist teachers with setting up the classroom and with wall displays of student’s work according to the lesson’s requirements. Assist teachers/parents if they want to speak to each other about a child’s progress or problem and ensure that all enquiries and messages conveyed by parents are always passed on to teachers as soon as possible. ACET PROFILE   Since opening in 2002, ACET Vietnam has grown in size and reputation to become known as the leading provider of Academic English Pathways and IELTS Preparation Programs. The ACET program simulates studying overseas so all students, regardless of level, through the medium of English using mainly INSEARCH textbooks. ACET courses are extremely successful in preparing students for the IELTS test. Over 80% of ACET students achieve their desired IELTS Band Score. However, the curriculum designed and developed by INSEARCH focuses on English for Academic purposes. ACET has never been a quick-fix ‘cram school’ focused only on exam preparation. We are seeking for potential candidates who can take role in ACET team as follows : POSITION : Counsellor ( full- time staff ) RESPONSIBILITIES Reception Dealing with customers through all channels: through emails, yahoo chat, facebook on telephone or face to face Sale activities Telesales Response to student’s enquiries, provide course information to prospective students on the phone, face to face, chat online, email. Prepare material needed. Re-enrolment Monitoring Produce and deliver re-enrolment registration booking form to individual existing students in order to continuously increase the number of new students studying at the Centre Placement Testing    Administer Placement Tests according to ACET policy & procedures   Counselling activities Coordinate student orientation for the new term including ordering photocopied books, preparing class lists and allocating classrooms. Prepare student progress form Produce and distribute student cards. Prepare and update class attendance list for the courses. Maintain student records for these classes. Monitor attendance records and follow up if absent for all classes Respond to student enquiries, follow up all complaints received. Prepare and distribute payment reminder letter to individual students and receive their registration. Call parents of students fewer than 18 to receive registration. Produce enrolment forms for student to submit to cashier. Follow the deadline of re-enrolment policy. Coordinate timetable with teacher’s presence. Monitor student failures and reports as appropriate to academic Coordinate to produce and distribute end-of-term assessment reports and certificates.
